National Service
In the District of Columbia, more than 5,600 people participate in national service each year through 73 projects and programs. This year, the Corporation for National and Community Service will commit more than $15,600,000 to support the District of Columbia’s national service initiatives.
National service refers to the Corporation's National Service programs: Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America. Participants in these programs address community needs such as education, the environment, public safety and disaster relief.
