Volunteer Retention: The average national volunteer retention rate was 64.5%. For large cities, the average volunteer retention rate ranged from 45.7 to 73.9%. Visit the technical note for more information on how the volunteer retention rate was determined. Jacksonville, FL; Memphis, TN, New Orleans, LA; and Raleigh, NC were not included in the volunteer retention rankings due to sample size issues.
