Young Adult Volunteer Rate (ages 16-24): Between 2006 and 2008, the average national volunteer rate was 26.4% per year. During the same timeframe, average Young Adult volunteer rates for large cities ranged from 12.5% to 34.7%. Rankings are based on a three-year moving average. Birmingham, AL; Jacksonville, FL; Nashville, TN; New Orleans, LA; and Raleigh, NC were not included in the Millennial Volunteer Rate rankings due to sample size issues.
