Young Adult Volunteer Rate (ages 16-24): Between 2009 and 2011, the average national volunteer rate was 22.1% per year. During the same timeframe, average Young Adult volunteer rates for large cities ranged from 13.4% to 32.4%. Rankings are based on a three-year moving average. Jacksonville, FL; New Orleans, LA; and Raleigh, NC were not included in the Young Adults Volunteer Rate rankings due to sample size issues.
