College Student Volunteer Rate: Between 2007 and 2009, the average national volunteer rate for College Students was 26.3% per year. During the same timeframe, average College Student volunteer rates for states ranged from 13.1% to 42.3%. Rankings are based on a three-year moving average. Idaho, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, and West Virginia were not included in the College Student Rankings due to sample size issues.
