College Student Volunteer Rate: Between 2008 and 2010, the average national volunteer rate for College Students was 26.7% per year. During the same timeframe, average College Student volunteer rates for states ranged from 15.0% to 44.9%. Rankings are based on a three-year moving average. Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, and West Virginia were not included in the College Student Rankings due to sample size issues.
